History

The Hall was originally known as 'The Parish Room' and was a gift to the Community from Lord and Lady Arbuthnot of Newtown House - to be used for the recreation and enjoyment of residents.

The Village Hall is owned by the Diocese of Winchester and was originally held as a charitable trust and run by the Parochial Church Council (P.C.C.)

The Diocese now lease the Hall to the separate Village Hall Charity  (set up in 1979) but the objective remains the same:

To provide the Hall as a community facility for recreation and enjoyment.
